The scientific work at the Department of Biology will be presented in the form of lectures and poster and flash talk presentations.

Lecture slots are allocated to the institutes of D-BIOL and to guests based on the Symposium’s guidelines. Lectures are grouped into sessions which are chaired by D-BIOL professors.

  • Please note that all newly appointed faculties arrived since June 2022 that have not yet spoken at the D-BIOL symposium are automatically nominated for a lecture. 
  • The speakers for the free lecture slots shall be nominated by the individual institutes/scientific areas from among all the active participating scientists.
    The executive committee of D-BIOL expressly supports the idea of giving younger researchers the opportunity to present their research.

All presentations will be given in room Davos (one floor below the entrance area)

Instructions and information for speakers:

  • Duration of lecture: 20 minutes
  • Q&A after lecture: 5 minutes
  • Each lecturer must prepare a presentation suitable for an audience representing the wide range of interests and backgrounds in D-BIOL
    (very important: appropriate introduction)
  • Available technical infrastructure in Davos
  • Information concerning setup of sessions (when to deliver presentations)

Duties of chair persons:

  • Chair the session
  • Introduce each speaker (institute, group, topic)
  • Monitor compliance with the maximum speaking time

Information for poster presenters:

  • Poster size max. A0, portrait format (NO textile posters)
  • Powerstrips will be provided
  • Poster exhibition is located on the entrance floor
  • Poster numbers are attached

Poster presenters are kindly requested to hang up posters on arrival and before start of the symposium according to the poster number (see full program).

We would like to make you aware that poster prizes will be awarded.
