Awards

Outstanding dissertations can be recommended for distinction with the ETH medal. The corresponding information of the ETH Zurich Academic Services are found here.

The doctoral studies panel considers in particular the following criteria for the evaluation of the dissertations proposed for distinction:

Scientific quality of the dissertation
Publication of the results of the dissertation in at least one high quality journal
Scope and quality of the recognizable scientific contribution of the doctoral student
Excellent oral exam
